Excellent Exercise Bike
The Velocity Fitness Recumbent Bike is a great tool to help build stamina, release stress, and increase physical fitness. It's got a great orange accent to it, that makes it pop out visually, especially when it's put next to the typical gray, tan, and blacks of most other exercise equipment. It's quiet and does what it's supposed to do very efficiently.

I've recently become more interested in strength training and in increasing my aerobic stamina. I own an elliptical machine and while it is very low impact, my posture (or the lack thereof from using the handles) and my upper body weight occasionally causes issues with my back and knees. The joint pain I get in my legs after doing high intensity training (do a search for HIIT, if interested) on the elliptical can be intense and it makes it hard to stick with my goal of working out the following day.

The Velocity Recumbent bike makes those problems vanish! First, your body weight is being supported by the seat and...
Great bike for the money!
I bought this bike because i wanted to start working out in the comfort of my own home. The bike was easy to assemble. Its very quiet which allows me to watch tv or read while im workng out. The stride is very smooth and there are several levels of resistance. The seats made of thick foam and very comfortable. I love the color of the bike as well. Overall, this bike is a good value for the price. I would recommed this to anyone looking for a good, quality bike at an affortable price.

Fantastic product
I've been using this bike for about two years and I absolutely love it. I turn on the television and watch a movie or play video games and the time flies by! I honestly forget I'm riding it sometimes, though that depends how good the movie or video game is! I have to get up every 30 minutes to stretch and give my buttocks a break, but it's a very comfortable seat overall. I keep a pillow stashed between the seat and backrest for even more comfort. When I started, I was 400 lbs so there's no weight limit that I'm aware of. Easy to assemble, and you can adjust the tension from 1-8 to make your workout easier or harder. Plus, the legs rotate forward or backward, so you can ride in any direction you please. It also allows you to adjust the length from the seat to the pedals, so if you're short or tall you can adjust it to fit your needs. Also, it's relatively heavy but the bottom of the unit includes rollers, so it rolls across the carpet or hardwood flooring for easy storage. The unit is...

Great Home Cycle!
The directions advise to have two people put this cycle together, but I was able to do it by myself without breaking a sweat. One part of the instructions is incorrect, asking you to use three washers when you really need four (you'll figure it out by looking at the drawn instructions). I put it together in under an hour without any problems.

The cycle is very sturdy and quiet. I have the cycle stored next to our babies' bed and ride while they're falling asleep so I can look over them - it is VERY quiet! The highest magnetic tension is also pretty decent for a home machine. The monitor is very basic, but has the necessities.

Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend!
Marcy recumbent mag cycl
My husband and I were looking for a style of exercise bike that was easy on the posterior and on the wallet. The Marcy recumbent Mag cycle is both! My husband and my teenaged son were able to put it together in less than an hour (if you don't count the time in laying out the parts and reading through the instructions first). There were 2 washers left over, so I am assuming that the manufacturer included extras.

The monitor keeps track of the time that you spend exercising in each session, speed, distance traveled, calories burned, and it has an odometer. I was surprised about how quiet it is, as our previous upright exercise bike was quite noisy. The bike also has a dial to set the tension level (there are 8 levels).

I was able to buy the Marcy bike on sale for $127 and with super saver shipping through Amazon I was able to get free shipping and handling. This turned out to be a much better deal than through Walmart dot com.

Rowing and cycling are widely recognized as two of the best activities for fitness and strength. Rowing is an efficient, total-body workout, while cycling focuses on the lower body and aerobic capacity. Get both of these high-effectiveness, low-impact exercises with the Stamina(r) Conversion II(r) recumbent bike/rower.Rowing and cycling are widely considered two of the best all-around activities for cardiovascular fitness and strength, and now you can enjoy both workouts in a single device with the deluxe Conversion II recumbent bike/rower. Rowing is an efficient total body workout that uses all the major muscle groups, including the legs, arms, shoulders, abdominals, and buttocks. It's also one of the best exercises for building a strong back, as well as one of the most effective low-impact aerobic exercises for people who want to increase their metabolisms and burn more calories without hurting their joints. Stationary cycling, meanwhile, is also a terrific low-impact cardiovascular exercise, with a routine that focuses on all the major muscles in your hips, thighs, and buttocks.

The Conversion II looks like a standard rower, with a molded, adjustable foam-padded seat and seat back, rotating rowing pedals, and an extruded aluminum rowing beam. However, the seat also doubles as a recumbent bike seat that supports your lower back while you ride, with foot straps holding your feet securely in place as you pedal. And that's not all, as the Conversion II also offers options for working your upper body--including such exercises as bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, and forearm curls--along with a resistance cord that attaches under the seat for light leg presses.

Other details include eight levels of smooth, quiet magnetic resistance; a multifunction electronic monitor with a large LCD display that tracks speed, distance, time, calories burned, and pulse; sturdy steel construction; a hand-pulse sensor built into the grips to measure heartbeats per minute; a weight capacity of 250 pounds; wheels for easy transport; and a folding frame for quick, effortless storage. The Conversion II measures 74.5 by 25.5 by 10 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 105 pounds.

  • Doubles as a recumbent bike and a rower
  • Additional upper body strengthening exercises including bicep curls, triceps kickbacks, forearm curls and more

  • 8 levels of smooth, quiet magnetic resistance, deluxe housing

  • Rotating rowing pedals

Fantastic Piece of Equipment
This is a great piece of equipment. If you are wondering if quality is compromised as a result of the 2-for-1 deal, you'll be very happy to know that it isn't. This is a smooth and quiet piece of equipment. I am very impressed with it. It is of very nice quality.

It took me about an hour to put together because I was being very attentive to the directions and taking my time. At first sight, the instructions are slightly confusing but it only takes a few minutes of looking over everything to understand them.

The monitor is of nice quality and has several different modes: time, speed, calorie, pulse, RPM and distance. It's actually built into the bike/rower with this model as opposed to being on top like a very similar model that currently goes for $100 less. To me, it looks better built in as it is with this model.

Now that I've said that, what I specifically like about this bike/rower is that is really more like a 3-in-1 machine. You not only get the...

Excellent Recumbent/Rower!
I bought this because it was both a recumbent bike and a rower. I am very happy with this product because the quality is the best I have had with any fitness equipment I own. It is so quiet and sturdy and easy to use. I can go from bike to rower in seconds, making it easy to rotate every couple of miles if desired.
The extra bonus is that you can use it for strength training by just pulling the resistant bar while standing. And a few other options are shown in the book that comes with it.
I would recommend this product for the quality and ease of use. Easy to fold up if needed.
Coincidence or poorly manufactured equipment?
I ordered the Stamina Deluxe Conversion II, knowing that it would be an excellent addition to my home gym. After assembling it, I saw that the tension knob and the spring pin knob were cracked, making it impossible to use w/o taping it together (which I did, just to see how the unit worked). I liked the unit, but it was ridiculous to pay that much for something in order to "tape it together" so I contacted Stamina and they would not return my calls or e-mails. Amazon (from whom I had purchased it) graciously replaced it with a new one.
When the new one arrived, I examined it thoroughly before the delivery person left. After assembling it, I started to work out and there was such a loud squeaking noise, it was impossible to use. I persevered, thinking that there was something that "needed to be worked out" but it got worse. Once again, Stamina would not return e-mails or voicemails, so Amazon (thank goodness I had bought it from them) allowed me to return it (their policy is to...

Just what the doctor ordered -
I recently purchased a PhysioStep RXT-1000 for my mother. The product was recommended to us by her physical therapist. She is recovering from a slight stroke and this product not only fit her rehabilitation and exercise needs but it also fit our budget. We also looked at the NuStep product but it was considerably more expensive and did not have the elliptical motion we were looking for.

The PhysioStep arrived in perfect condition and we had it up and running for her in less than 45 minutes. One of the nice things about the PhysioStep is that it took up minimal space, approximately 4' by 3'. Also it is self powered so being by a power outlet was not a concern. We had an initial question regarding how to use all of the exercise programs but the companies customer service department was able to help us immediately, they were really helpful.

Overall, we are really satisfied with the product and my mother enjoys using it daily.

We would definitely...

Wow. Perfect excercise machine for bad back, knees, etc.
A couple of years ago I had great weight loss success working out on a traditional elliptical machine. However, I developed a knee injury that made it too difficult/painful to do the ellipctical motion, and the weight came back on. This past summer, I developed 2 herniated discs in my back and one of the discs created horrid sciatica. It was difficult to walk, sit, do anything. I knew I needed an exercise machine that would be easy on my back, easy on my knees and also my shoulder. THIS IS IT! I ordered it in January and it just came last week and we assembled it over the weekend. I got a GREAT 30 minute workout today, my first day. I am at a point where it is difficult for me to use a treadmill, even difficult for me to use a recumbent bike. This machine is very "comfortable" and I was able to get my heart rate up and break a sweat. For 30 a 30 minute workout, I burned 165 calories - and that is on par with a workout on a standing elliptical. The workout felt great, my...
Good Buy
Bought the PhysioStep after my sister recommended it to me, and glad I did! It is a great total body workout and I enjoy the feel of the elliptical motion so much more than my recumbent bike. I try to use it 3 times a week and can feel the difference already. One thing I really like is that the display screen is big and I can even read it without my glasses. I would recommend this to a friend.

About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.

The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

This bike was a steal!
The bike shipped promptly, was easily assembled by my husband in about 30 minutes, and is everything the other reviewers says it is. It is SILENT, even when I'm biking fast (well - fast for me is 20 miles an hour). It is built well and seems very solid, although you can move it around a room pretty easily. It does not wiggle or bounce you, which makes it nice for reading. It is also nice that the controls do not block your view to the television. The calorie counter is not accurate. It shows the same number burned in my first 30 minutes at 20 miles per hour, as it does for my second 30 minutes at 15 miles per hour. I still gave it 5 stars though, because without knowing your weight and body fat percentage, no machine will accurately tell you the calories burned. I got rid of an elliptical trainer to buy this, because in order to go fast enough to get a good cardio workout on the elliptical I had lots of hip joint and knee pain - not so initially, but my body adjusted and I...

Great for casual exerciser
Overall the product is well built and can easily handle the advertised 250lbs. However, if you are on the high end of the weight scale and in some form of reasonable fitness the maximum resistance will not be enough for you.

After having a few upright bikes I can say that this reclining model is much easier on your back and wrists. The padding on the seat does leave a little to desire, but it's easily bearable for 1hr rides.

All needed parts were included and it went together in about 30 minutes.

Like everything else in the world you get what you pay for. The computer frequently will not turn itself off even after hours of non-use. The dial to adjust the tension broke after the first day (springs back to max resistance when you set it). You can get around this with a little bit of tape to stick it where you want it. Realistically though, you won't be using this bike on anything but the hardest setting - so it's not that much of an impact for...
Makes life a little bit easier
This bike isn't noisy, nor does it take up a lot of space. I actually use it without the handle bars, which makes it even more compact. I also end up moving this bike around a lot (I'll move it near my computer to watch a movie, or closer to a light to read), and have had no issues- it's not as heavy as one might expect from an exercise machine.

I've had no problems with the time/distance attachment on the bike; it's very accurate. Just be careful, because the little box will fall if one knocks it by accident. Also, it's helpful to have two people when adjusting the length of the bike, I found it difficult to push together on my own. My final comment and reason for the 4 stars (not 5): Don't expect to spend more than a half-hour at a time on this bike, the seat isn't really cushioned for long usage... and it's really not super-comfortable in general- however, it is easy to add some pillows here and there.

My best fitness friend.
I am reviewing this bike from the perspective of someone who is about 100 pounds overweight, 5'4", and 55 years of age. I also have lower spinal problems which might require surgery, so I'm using this bike for weight loss, as well as general strengthening my back and improving my fitness level. I've lost 125 pounds in the last few years, partly by using a recumbent bike for exercise, but still have a ways to go! I'm writing this to let the reader know that I think using a recumbent bike for cardio exercise is a great thing especially if you are limited in how much weight-bearing exercise you can do.

1st of all, the bike was very easy to put together. My easily-frustrated brother was kind enough to do this for me, and let me just say that I heard no yelling, cursing, or "what the h*ll is this?" the whole time. So...directions are excellent. In addition, the owner's manual (only about 20 pages) also has clear instructions, but graphics and instructions on the console...

Excellent machine
I have had the Nautilus R514 for about 3 weeks now and it has been the best exercise machine that I have ever bought. The computer on it is easy to understand. You can go up to 16 levels as far as resistance is concerned. My husband and I have not really done a lot of aerobic exercise in a long while so we have our highest setting as level 4 right now, which doesn't sound like much, but is. He weighs roughly 290 and I weigh 170. I am average height og 5'6" and he is very tall. He doesn't have any problem with the seat settings. The seat is very easy to move to change between his and mine. The frame of the machine is very sturdy. It takes up a but of room as it is about 4 and a half to 5 feet long and needs about 3 feet of space widthwise. But we fit it into our living room alright. I have gotten tired of buying low-priced machines that do not last long so I decided to spend some more money and buy something from a company with a good reputation. I always used Nautilus...
Great value.
I found the Nautilus R514 very quiet, quite sturdy, and relatively easy to assemble. I would make the following suggestions to anyone purchasing this exercise bike.

1. Go to the Nautilus site, find the Assembly Manual, download and print it. It contains all the latest addendae, and the printout drawings will be larger and easier to read.

2. Spend some time reading the instructions while examining the parts before you start assembly. This may keep you from having to reinstall some of the parts

3. The latest manual starts with removing the seat rail from the frame. Skip to Step 2 instead and install the front and rear stabilizer feet first. This will keep the frame stable while you remove the seat rail (step 1).

4. As you install the bolts in a particular assembly, don't tighten them until you have all of them in place. This will help you to achieve correct alignment.

About the only complaint (a minor one) I have is the...

Mixed feelings.....
I bought this bike as cheaper alternative to the much more expensive retail exercise bikes on the market. The product description and price tag for this particular bike is exactly what I was looking for. However, I am now experiencing some buyer's remorse for going so cheap on price.

To elaborate, this bike when it works is great. It is comfortable, quiet, and the digital monitor is nice. However, I guess I was unlucky and got a factory dud. After just one exercise routine the digital monitor stopped working when you started/stopped pedaling. You could reset it and it still not activate once you started pedaling. At this point I almost decided to send it back, but I decided to open up the case and take a peek inside. What I found was the little magnetic pickup had moved out of position and was too far away from the magnet that's attached to the pulley. It wouldn't trigger. The sensor itself is glued to a flimsy piece of plastic covered in a protective gel and held to the...

Basic bike that serves its purpose
Just like a previous post mentioned, I purchased this bike as a cheaper alternative to the majority of recumbent bikes out there. I'm really happy to have one in the house now so that I'm now having to drive to the gym and back just to use their bike. Positives: it's quiet. I can watch TV and not be too distracted. It works fine. Negatives: It was pretty difficult for my husband and I to put together. We had to bend a few pieces to actually make them fit. You get what you pay for, as it's very rudimentary, but the picture doesn't lie to you so you really can't complain. The seat and overall bike is a bit wobbly but pretty unoticeable. Other than that, it serves its purpose and I'm happy I got the bike I've been wanting and I'm not having to feel guilty about spending a ton of money.
Perfect Home Use Bike, Love It!
I bought this bike to use in my home while watching TV. It's super quiet. It's not a sophisticated model like you use in the gym, but it sure is a great substitute if the gym scene isn't for you. I was overwhelmed when I took it out of the box to put it together...but it went together in a snap (20 min.) I really love it & use it everyday. It suits my needs perfectly for strengthening/toning after having knee surgery. I recommend this bike as the best bang for your buck!

One heck of a quiet workout!
As an apartment dweller I was so pleased to find this (thanks Sky Mall magazine for the idea, but bigger thanks to Amazon for having it at a great price with super saver shipping too). To be honest I was skeptical as to how sturdy this product would be and as to how much of a workout it would give. I have not been disappointed at all and in fact more pleased than I thought I'd be.

It was easy to assemble, but must say that the instruction manual gives WAY too many diagrams of parts, etc. that aren't needed to assemble it and makes it look more intimidating to assemble than it really is. It comes with a wrench and Phillips head screwdriver/Allen wrench and that's all you'll need. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble, but had the instructions been simpler it would have been more like 30 minutes. I keep the tools handy and check the assembly points from time to time and give it a little snugging up, but it's not as if the bolts are really loose. It's just me being a...

Good Product, Questionable Build Quality...
I have used this for a couple of days now and I believe there wont be any more surprises.

Pros:

Functions great - is a great exercise bike, without the front handle bar i can watch TV, play a game, or use a tray table to use a laptop.
Quiet - i can use this right next to the wife while watching TV, its practically silent.
Small - Folds into smallest footprint I've seen on a bike.
Sturdy - pieces went together firmly and the whole thing feels stout (I am 245lbs and it doesn't feel flimsy under me)

Cons:

Material quality - while everything went together well, and the frame is well made, the plastic housing on the gearbox came cracked in a few spots and the back has stitching coming loose.
Awkward moving - When folded up, it can be a bit awkward to move around.

On the whole I am pleased with the unit, and it would get a perfect score if not for the minor blemishes in the cheap parts. Time will tell if anything...
We love it
After two years of suffering at the gym, I got nothing out of it but aches and pains. But with this bike, you can just sit and watch TV and work up a heavy sweat. I was a bit concerned when I ordered it that it would be too easy and not be a real workout, but it absolutely is. Your back stays comfortable, there's no stress on your joints, but your muscles get as much of a workout as they need. You can get on and off it so easily that I will weave little mini workouts right into my day. I wish I got it sooner.

A great machine at a great price
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

The A20 is the replacement for the Active Series 20 and Amazon has now corrected their product description to show the correct information for the A20. I haven't seen the Active Series 20 so I can't really draw a comparison and trying to get comparison info (I was trying to decide which one to buy) from the sales staff at Schwinn was impossible since the person I talked to hadn't even seen an actual working model of the A20 (let alone sat on one) and his information was limited to that which was presented on the website. I decided on the A20 since it did appear that they tried to make some improvements plus there's the issue of being able to get parts if needed in the future.
I received the A20 yesterday and both my wife and I have used it once. I will update in the future.

SET UP: There are very few parts to deal with plus all necessary tools were included and this was a pleasant surprise. I laid them out and checked then against the...

A great addition for a low-cost, home gym
After my husband helped me pull the bike out of the box, I wanted to see if I could put this together by myself; and, if so, how long it would take. So, I set a timer, chased my husband out of the room and began.

In 15 minutes I had removed the packaging and checked for missing parts. All the parts were there.

It took me just under an hour to put the bike together, and I did it all by myself! It was really easy! The parts were packaged in an organized manner and clearly identified so I had no trouble with parts. All the tools needed to put it together were included, so I only had to find a pair of scissors to remove packaging and four D batteries to operate the console. And the picture instructions were accurate and easy to follow. That was amazing in itself!

Now, I had it together, and it was time to try it out. After playing with the controls a bit, I figured out how to select a program and gave it a whirl. Here's what I like and don't like about...
Great but has issues
I ride it every night. It is very sturdy and dependable and it also does not take up too much space. Sitting in this position riding for 30 minutes is a pleasure. It is quiet so I can ride it at night with out aggravating my wife. The levels work perfectly.

All the important stuff works great but you can forget the fan and the heart rate indicator. The fan can only be felt 1 inch from the surface. The heart rate indicator was way off in my opinion. For example, I am riding it now as I type with over 20 minutes on the timer at a decent pace. According to the monitor presently my heart rate is 78, just not possible.

Also, the laptop/book holder is okay for my small laptop. Typing is difficult right now but I am usually playing chess while I ride so that is not bad. Continuous typing would be painful this way. Additionally, I am 5'4" and could never use this for reading. it is too far away and at the wrong angle. I do highly recommend and feel like it...
