Impressed
I just purchased this cable crossover, because I have a fitness book nearly dedicated to crossover excercises. $400 plus free shipping did not make me think that I was going to get a high quality piece of equipment. However, I have been impressed with the quality. Metal is machined well with nice edges and operation of the equipment is smooth. The only complaint that I have is the lack of setup directions. I could not find any in the box nor on the internet, so we put it together based on the picture and diagram. We did not have any major problems putting it together. I have not had it long but think I definitely got what I paid for.

Not bad for the price!
The boxes arrived torn and banged up but arrived much faster than expected. I would give this product 5 stars BUT the instructions that I assume should of been in the box weren't. I only had a deconstructed view of the product as if it was coming together. Luckily, I've played enough Tetris in my life to figure out the scheme. Also, if you use olympic weights, you need to purchase the the adapter to hold the weight. 4 Stars.

I've had this about a month now, so I think it's time for a review!

Shipping: Most definitely 5 stars, ordered on a Friday I think, expected arrival date was the following Friday, came in on Thursday, a day ahead of schedule. And was FREE shipping.

Assembly: 3/5 stars on this. It wouldn't be hard to put together if the company would actually put some ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS with it. It blows my mind a company the size of Powerline/Body Solid would put a product like this out with only a diagram. I had to go back several steps a few times, taking about half what I had put together back apart because I missed putting something on since I had no clue as to what order to do it all. Did it all myself, but it would've been much quicker with a partner.

Use: 5/5 stars! My workouts have went through the roof since I got this :) You can really hit ever bodypart with this baby. You'll need to get some extra attachments though, I'd suggest a pulldown bar, 20"...

The two previous reviews are dead on... plus I have more to add
I purchased this home gym because I can't always find time to go to the gym. The Caribou will let me do all the exercises I normally do while I'm there with out the travel time to and from and playing the waiting game for a machine. I'll start off by saying that the CPKG-CCO, with weight stack and 300 lb Olympic weight set, is a solid piece of equipment. Comes with and will handle more than enough weight to push me and my family to our limits. It takes some time to put together, but goes up easily with two people. The directions are clear and simple to follow. Just listen when the directions say not to tighten the bolts until instructed to do so and you'll be good to go. The problems come in to play when you look at the manufacturing. For the price, I would expect better attention to detail. First, the Smith and weight stack rods are not smooth. They need to be polished and lubricated with a dry lube. Other wise the action is jerky or worse yet, the weights stick in the middle of a...

Poor quality control
I have the Caribou III Multi Gym w/ cable crossover and 200 lbs weight stack, and this machine has the most painful setup procedure ever!

There're 2 major and 2 minor defects with this machine.

Major defects:
1) Right behind the pulley for the lat pull-down, there's a hole that the cable must pass through in order for the entire cable system to work. This rectangular hole is simply too small! I had to spent about 2 hours using a metal file to enlarge the hole, it's not only time consuming but stressful for your fingers/hand.
2) About 35% of the holes on the weight stack are very difficult for the pin to completely insert in, because several of the holes on the center metal rod (which holds the weight plates as they are lifted) do not line up properly with the ones on the weight stack.

Minor defects:
1) The holes on the weight stack are facing toward the rear of the machine, in other word, you can't place the machine close to a wall...
Yukon Fitness Caribou III Package with Cable Crossover CPKG-CCO
I'm with Plunc, this home gym works very well. It has 14 gauge square tubular steel construction which seems to be the perfect compromise between weight and structural integrity and if assembled properly every feature works perfectly. The one reviewer who spent hours with a file widening a cable pass through hole really must have assembled his improperly (unless something really strange happened at the factory when his was being manufactured). Mine went together easily, but did require a few hours to fully assemble.

The Smith machine works well if the uprights are lubricated, but the best solution for attaining fluid motion while using it is to buy the linear bearing system from Yucon - they make it work just like the Smith machines at the gym.

The pec deck seat should be removed when using the cable crossover attachment which is easily done by pulling one quick release pin.

The included bars are made of hollow chromed steel and their plastic handles...

EXCELLENT inexpensive crossover machine!
It's easy to find "functional trainers" for $1500+ with incorporated weight stacks--in addition, they tend to have a very narrow frame with insufficient room for a full stretch.

This machine is superior to those for several reasons, and is better even than its weight stack counterpart. I spoke with a representative at Yukon who told me--much to my astonishment--that the weight capacity on this thing is 900 POUNDS--450 on each stack! That is truly an incredible feature, and I've never seen a commercial crossover machine bearing that much weight. They tend to have weight stacks, but those stacks usually max out at 300-350 lbs (and often only have 200-250).

I'm 6'5, and I get an excellent, full stretch from this machine. The cable action is smooth now and will get better with continued use. Two things to mention: It was shipped to me with two washers missing, and I don't really care for the included handles. Get yourself some Spud Straps for weight machines; they're...

Review of Yukon Cable Crossover
This was the cheapest cable crossover machine I could find with all the features I wanted.

The quality is average. Residential quality. What I expected. However, the quality of the paint and finish was poor. A lot of paint chips and areas of surface rust. Not what I expected from a new unit.
Hubby loves it!
As soon as this came in, my husband and I put it together. Assembly was easy but time consuming. Directions were simple to follow and yes, you do need 2 people to put parts of it together. (but not all) He was excited to find a machine with free weights instead of stacks and one that had so many adjustable heights. He did end up purchasing some extra attachments for a greater workout program. FYI: This ships via a logistics comapany and came in 2 flat boxes.
